Late night evening…
stringing
cut hearts
one by one to cross the top of our glass doors.
Placing paper Valentines
made with care
by little ones…
one by one
each pile- equal height.

Glass door holds
an open red construction heart
one on each side
and
two banners
declare:
God is Love
each one above
the other.

Little Girl-
excited
by Valentines
and hanging hearts…
dresses
all in pink
from head to toe
all of her own accord
and
chooses heart clasp
for her hair
to crown her
girlish loveliness.

Candles flicker red and white
as table set for tea.
Pink swirled strawberry cupcakes
topped
with one
pink
heart
grace one side
and
chocolate
valentine cut-outs
frosted, sprinkled red with care
by
hands both little and big-
at the other.

Tea cups out, napkins placed.
All are called to table.
1 John 4:7-12
and Robert Louis Stevenson
nourish ears
and souls.

Daddy joins and makes us laugh
brings manliness
to the
table.

Sweets for the sweet…
each one
does eat…

Hugs and Kisses.
Love and laughter
fill home from hearth
to rafter.

Surpise comes later-
when dear one
presents
delicious
dinner.

All gather round our homely
table
crusty filled chicken, salad, green beans, applesauce, wedged seasoned potatoes
(ketchup)
and
Narnia.
We feast in joy
together.
